With a vibrant personality Joselyn landed her first role as a minor character in Sparrow Productions’ A Perfect Picture. She made a lasting impression on Ghanaian moviegoers who were even happier to see her play the intriguing role of ‘Esi’ in another Sparrow classic, A Sting In A Tale.  She’s a powerhouse personality admired by millions of youth across the continent. Her strikingly outstanding celebrity attention catapulted her to a youth & brand influencer.

Joselyn studied Administrative Law and worked with a Law firm as a Paralegal for a few years before following her passion for film & television. In 2009 she was head hunted by one of the biggest networks in Ghana, Viasat 1 to anchor their first ever-own produced flagship talk shows “the One Show” which she hosted from 2011 till 2014.

Meanwhile her break into mainstream acting happened after she had auditioned for the role of ‘Jennifer Adams’ in the first ever award winning ten chapter movie series by Sparrow Productions in 2011. Joselyn’s bold reprisal of this character catapulted her into movie stardom.  Her fan base grew and the Joselyn Dumas brand soon became a household name. She has since appeared in a starring role of ‘Esaba’ in Leila Djansi’s movie, ‘A Northen Affair’ with which she won best supporting actress at the 2013 Ghana Movie Awards . In 2014  she won Ghana Movie Awards Best Actress for her riveting performance in Love Or Something Like That” &  nominated by Africa Movie Academy Awards(AMAA's) for the same role. Joselyn starred in Potato Potahto which was selected and premiered at the Durban Film Festival  , Cannes Film Festival, British Urban Film Festival, Chelsea & LA Film Festival.

Joselyn since then has shelved several awards . Her recent awards include 2018 Best Actress - InternationalAchievement & Recognition Awards (IARAs),  & Best Actress Actress Africa at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) and nominated at the British Urban Film Festival alongside Hollywood Actor Omari Hardwick.

Joselyn's witty humor and personality defines Africa's fresh spin on the talk show format ‘@ home with’ which broadcasts across 10 million homes in the UK and 46 countries in Africa. ‘@ home with’ is filmed in Europe, and Africa and Joselyn has unearthed gems and topics showcasing African stories from a varied guest list as they share their passion and successes all from the comfort of her fabulous homes across the globe.

Her love and flair for movies and television does not end in front of the cameras. Joselyn set up the Joselyn Canfor-Dumas Foundation that’s sees to the well-being of children and their developmental issues. She’s gone ahead to work with the UN Climate Change body UNFCCC moderating high level Conversations in Africa to foster effective climate ambitions & recently the Global Landscapes Forum(GLF)

She’s also the founder and CEO of Virgo Sun Company Limited, a production entity which under her directorship, has already co-produced/executive produced movies such as POTATO POTAHTO, V-REPUBLIC, & LOVE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT , endorsed by the UNAIDS. She is also the creator/ executive producer of her newest hit television show KEEPING IT REAL with JOSELYN DUMAS, a dramatic reality television talk show with  Executive Production by VirgoSun.
